If the home leaks, the landlord repairs first.
01Stop
The landlord must keep the home fit to live in. Leaks and structural damage are not the tenant’s problem by default.
02Act
- Photograph the leak, date it, and message the landlord.
- Demand repair in writing. Don’t rebuild the structure yourself.
- For urgent damage, keep the quote, then decide who pays.
03Find
If they still won’t repair, try mediation or the consumer desk. Call 110 if it is unsafe.
